introduction | ultraviolet light absorber UV-360, also known as 2, 2 '-methylene-bis [4-teroctyl-6-(2H-benzotriazolyl -2)] phenol, is a benzotriazole ultraviolet absorber with excellent performance. Ultraviolet absorbers are organic compounds that can selectively and strongly absorb sunlight ultraviolet rays harmful to polymers and have high light resistance. Since the 70 s, benzotriazole has been listed by the Swiss Cibacage Company. Due to its oil resistance, discoloration resistance, low volatilization, and good compatibility with polymers, it has been widely used in various synthetic materials and products. It is the most commonly used and effective ultraviolet absorber in automotive coatings. With the continuous expansion of the application fields of engineering and modified plastics, it has brought demand and hope to UV absorbers. |
features & uses | UV-360 is a high-efficiency ultraviolet absorber, which can absorb 300-400nm ultraviolet rays and is widely compatible with various resins. It has a very low volatility and can be used with other light stabilizers or antioxidants. It is suitable for acrylates, polyesters, polycarbonates, polyoxymethylene, polyamides, polyolefins, styrene polymers, elastomers, adhesives, etc. It can be extruded with powder, solution or melt to prevent crystallization from exudation and sublimation. It can also be used for casting, thin-layer construction of fibers, paper and wallpaper. |
preparation | (1) synthesis of UV-360: 323gUV-329, 4g of powdered sodium hydroxide, 128g of bis (di-n-propylamino) methane and 15g of tetrabutylammonium bromide are added to a reaction bottle equipped with a stirrer, thermometer and distillation receiving device, heated to 130 ℃ under stirring, and reacted at this temperature and vacuum (100mmHg) for 2 hours, din-propylamine produced by steaming at the same time. Stop heating and remove negative pressure. 108g (theoretical amount 122g) of di-n-propylamine was recovered during the reaction, with 88.5% recovery and 98.6% content. (2) Purification of UV-360: When the temperature drops to 110 ℃, slowly add 500g of toluene to dissolve all the materials. After the material is dissolved, the temperature is reduced to 90 ℃, hydrochloric acid (about 40g) with a mass percentage of 18% is slowly added, and the material is fully neutralized to neutral. The reactant was transferred to a beaker, cooled and crystallized with ice water for 4~5h, then filtered. The filter cake was washed twice with 150mL × 2 deionized water, then 250g × 2 methanol, and dried at 100~110 ℃ to obtain UV-360266g (theoretical yield 329g), the melting point of the product was 197~198 ℃, the yield was 80.9%, and the content was 99.6%. |
store | avoid yang, high light, moisture, and avoid light stabilizers containing sulfur or halogen elements. It needs to be stored under sealed, dry and dark conditions. |
biological activity | Bisoctrizole (Tinosorb M, Tinuvin-360, UV-360, Milestab-360) is a broad-spectrum ultraviolet absorber that absorbs UVB and UVA. It is also a composite UV absorber, reflecting and scattering UV. |
use | suitable for PP, PE, polystyrene, ABS resin, PVC, nylon, polyurethane, etc. |
